FAQ

Below are answers to the most commonly asked questions by our new clients. However, if you still have questions that are not answered here, please do give us a call or send an email and we’ll be glad to clarify.

Why is NAID AAA certification important?

AAA Certification ensures a company that their records destruction vendor adheres to the best practices defined in the industry. Everything from drug and background checking of employees that handle your information to shred size, process, procedures, and more are verified through an auditing process that the National Association of Information Destruction conducts routinely on certified companies.

Can you destroy more than just paper?

Yes! We crush hard drives and incinerate material that cannot be shredded. We have destroyed uniforms, prototypes, dental molds, and much more. We also destroy x-rays and are HIPAA compliant in our destruction process.

What happens to the paper after it has been shredded?

All of the paper that we shred ends up being pulped into tissue paper, toilet paper, etc. through our relationships with several recycling centers and pulp mills. We never allow our shred to be used as packing material, pet bedding, filler dirt, etc, and the material is never sent overseas. We only use US-based pulp mills to process our shredded paper.

What is a Certificate of Destruction?

Certificate of Destruction is a company’s proof of the proper disposal and destruction of their confidential information. It can be written upon completion of the destruction or upon the vendor taking possession of the information and promising to destroy in a timely fashion.

Do you shred for individuals?

Yes. We have convenient drop-off locations in Huntsville and Homewood or we can come to your house. Give us a call to find out more information about our residential service.

When is your next community shred day?

In Huntsville, we work with the Better Business Bureau to host 2 free community shred days per year – one in April and one in October. Please check with the BBB or call our office to find out the exact day and time of our next event or join our Facebook Fan page for event information.
